What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has been in use for more than 2000 years in the treatment of various disorders. It consists of the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body that have shown to be helpful in the treatment of health problems. It originated in China, where, over the past 2000 years, more than 1000 points have been mapped on the human body. The focus of TCM is to restore balance and harmony to the body and can thus help us to be more aware of and more responsible for our own health.
